District Coordinator
– (tenable in 3 of the 28 districts) – NAPHAM
Under the overall
supervision of the Executive Director and directly reporting to the Programmes
Manager, the overall responsibility of the District Coordinator is to
effectively coordinate all program activities and manage the resources,
supervise the activities of support groups and enhance networking and linkages at
district level and will be based at any of NAPHAM District Offices
Development and
review of distri
ct plans and programmes, Initiation and coordination of
advocacy activities at district level, Develop and implementation resource
mobilisation and budgeting activities, Initiation and coordination of capacity
building for district staff, volunteers and support groups, Monitoring and
evaluation of the implantation of the HIV and AIDS response among support
groups, Data management, analysis and utilisation, Preparation and analysis of
district operational reports, Facilitate production and review of financial
reports, Submission of district reports to NAPHAM Head Office and other
relevant institutions (such as District Council and Partners), Networking with
district and community level institutions and experts involved in the delivery
of HIV and AIDS services, Supervise all district staff, Any other duties
assigned by the immediate supervisor from time to time
Have a Bachelors
Degree in Economics, Demography, Public Health, Community Development or any
relevant Social Sciences, Have at least 2 yrs of managing or implementing HIV
and AIDS programmes within the public sector or NGOs, Or have a Diploma with
more than 3 yrs experience in the similar position and field, Be a self
starter, hard worker, able to meet deadlines and work with minimum supervision,
Have good organisational and facilitation skills, effective writing and
interpersonal communication skills, Be able to ride a motorcycle and have a
clean motor cycle driving licence, Have computer skills and experience in
Excel, Word, Power Point and internet is a must, Have experience in proposal
development, Have good networking skills and be a team worker, Be able to
design, implement and evaluate HIV and AIDS programs, Have a clear
understanding of the NAF, HIV and AIDS Policy, Decentralisation Policy, Malawi
Growth and Development Strategy, Millennium Development Goals, and other
relevant policies and strategies related to HIV and AIDS, Have supervisory skills
and experience and be able to work on multiple tasks, Have skills in project
management and be able to manage different projects funded by different donors
and meet their requirements
The posts are for a
contract period of 1 yr and renewal is subject to successful performance
appraisal and availability of funds
