Monitoring & Documentation Coordinator – 1 position based in Kampala

This position is based in Kampala and will report to the Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Manager. The incumbent will act as a resource in the NORAD Project Team in planning, data collection, monitoring, documentation ft and reporting of the NORAD child protection and participation projects. She/he will ensure the projects implements the project MSE framework successfully and provide technical leadership to project team on M&E, including training, development of monitoring tools, and planning and reporting.

Main Responsibilities/key result areas
1. Implement the project MSE framework and coordinate tasks and processes for monitoring project progress.
2. Develop indicators and monitoring formats and tools for the projects
3. Establish and manage a filing system for all project data.
4. Train and coach NORAD project staff and partner staff on the M&E framework, data collection and use of monitoring tools.
5. Provide technical assistance to project staff on participatory monitoring methodologies with children and communities
6. Conduct project baseline, mid-term reviews and final evaluations of the highest quality and as per M&E framework.
7. Record and analyse project monitoring data from working districts monthly and report to project manager.
8. Prepare draft project progress reports under supervision of the project manager based on district progress reports.
9. Write and edit documentation and reports on best practices, case studies, lessons learnt and reflection from the projects.
10. Compile and disseminate M&E information needed for periodic project planning.
11. Support work and budget planning under the supervision of the project manager.
12. Support the utilization of the corporate M&E system (PALS) within the projects and support preparations and modifications of Project Outlines.
13. Ensure M&E systems and practices are aligned and integrated with PALS and PPM

Job requirement

Essential Competencies
• Bachelor degree (preferred) in Development, Social Sciences or its equivalent, training /background and professional training on monitoring and evaluation.
• At least 3 years in monitoring and documentation of projects
• Knowledge of environment and current effective practice on monitoring & evaluation
• Demonstrable abilities in planning and coordination
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people from diverse cultures, ability to lead and motivate people to work in teams
• Excellent communication skills, both in written English and in face-to-face presentations
• Willingness to travel within the country
• Computers skills in MS Office and Internet
