To attract excellent people we know we need to offer excellent benefits and conditions. That’s why when you join Monash, you’ll join a workplace where fairness and flexibility are standards, not afterthoughts. We offer a variety of professional development opportunities, generous maternity/parental leave and work arrangements that acknowledge one size doesn’t fit all.
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking software developers to partner with Monash researchers to enable new research goals, enhance research practices, and foster collaborative research through the application of Information Communication Technologies (ICT).
The Monash e-Research Centre has been very successful in working with researchers, and are looking to expand its team of quality software developers. This is an exciting opportunity to join this team to work on various research projects across Monash University and to potentially collaborate with national and international research initiatives.
As a senior analyst programmer, you may be working on more than one project and be expected to take on a technical lead role. You will also be responsible for assisting in project planning, architecting a solution, and guiding junior developers.
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive hands-on experience throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to completion. With a strong background in SQL, database design/scripting/report generation and web development, you will have expertise experience in core programming language (Python and/or Java).
In addition, you will be results-focused and have an appreciation of good software development practices, such as: configuration/release management, coding standards, code reuse, and documentation. You will also be comfortable working in an Agile software development environment and have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with researchers and the MeRC team.
If you pay attention to detail, have good time management skills and good problem solving skills, we would like to hear from you!
This role is a full-time three year fixed-term position; however flexible-working arrangements may be negotiated
Your application must address the selection criteria. Please refer to “How to apply for Monash Jobs”.
