Our client develops ecotourism and environment preservation activities in South-America and East Africa where he is looking to hire a Country Manager for its operations in Tanzania and in Botswana.
Job description
Based in Arusha, the Country Manager will have overall accountability for finance, logistics, operations and business development aspects in the subsidiary which consists of a lodge, protected areas and first-class camping equipments. Working closely with the Company engineering manager for the technical issues, he will be tasked with improving performance through increased efficiency and enhanced cooperation with the head-quarter in Paris.
Key responsibilities include:
– Setting-up and executing growth strategy in coordination with the Company Executive Director in Paris,
– Organising regular research and photography campaigns (route, employees mobilization, safety and security matters, guiding of the groups, catering, costs) by ensuring client satisfaction,
– Controlling and coordinating the supply and movement of goods on site,
– Collaborating and negotiating with local suppliers to provide improved services,
– Identifying and prospecting new business opportunities,
– Developing strong external relationships with local authorities, partners and customers,
– Leading and motivating the local team (mechanics, security guards, housekeeping employees, drivers),
Skills
Who we are looking for
A camp boss, an operations manager or a field/safari guide, you have a minimum of 10 years of operational experience in green tourism or remote site catering in Africa.
Dynamic, rigorous, with good people skills, you have the ability to work on your own initiative. Fluency in French and English is preferred.
The role may involve regular trips to Botswana.
