- Candidates
should demonstrate in their application a full understanding of monitoring
and evaluation practices, - Be
able to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information from a variety
of sources and juggle multiple tasks, - Analyze
data and contribute to research papers, - Have
a familiarity with a wide variety of agriculture, water and sanitation and
public health issues, and interact effectively with clients and
colleagues.
The
successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Performing
assignments related to various ongoing re search and evaluation tasks
across a number of USAID-project related initiatives; - Participating
in developing and implementing evaluation plans; - Conducting
literature reviews, in-depth interviews, focus groups, survey design and
administration, site visits, data management, data verification and
analysis, and report writing, to include developing articles
Required
Skills or Experience
Skills or Experience
- Master’s
degree in statistics, agricultural economics or public health. - At
least 3 years of relevant work experience in the field of research and/or
programme evaluation, is required. - Proficiency
with analyzing data using computer-based data management tools (STATA,
SPSS, Epi Info, etc), and use of program survey and evaluation
methodology. - Proficiency
with Microsoft Office software (i.e.,Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or
Access) is essential in this fast-paced client oriented environment. - Ability
to demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for
obtaining solutions is a must. - Strong
oral communication skills, and well developed writing skills are required. - Strong
organization and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both
independently and as a team member are a must.
