Maranyundo School Teaching Job Vacancy in Rwanda

ORGANIZATIONAL
OVERVIEW

The Maranyundo
School is a school of excellence, providing 180 middle school girls with
dedicated, degree-qualified teachers, small classes, a first rate curriculum
and a vibrant and safe residential community in which to learn and grow. It
offers tuition support to over half its students in order to provide
economically vulnerable girls access to and expectations for academic
excellence.

The Maranyundo
School opened in 2008 and in the first three years it ranked third, second and
this year FIRST, in the O Level National Exams. This is a remarkable
achievement for a school dedicated to providing opportunity to the economically
vulnerable and is testimony to the hard work and commitment of these young
girls and their teachers.

The Maranyundo
School was founded by a still active group of supporters in Boston. It is now
owned and led by the Benebikira Sisters, a Rwandan order of Roman Catholic
nuns, highly respected for their commitment to academic excellence and their
unwavering compassion and heroism during the genocide. Under their leadership,
and with the help of dedicated teachers from Rwanda and Uganda, the students
are taught the full National Curriculum, with an emphasis on developing the
self-confidence, knowledge and skills necessary for success in school and in
life. The Maranyundo School community has high standards, believing that all
students, no matter their personal background, can succeed at the highest
level.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for
two college graduates who are self-confident, independent and passionately

leadership in clubs and sports. Additionally, you will be expected to help the
Head of School arrange and lead tours for English-speaking visitors to the
school and to use social media regularly to keep the Maranyundo Initiative
Board, and thus our donors and friends, updated on activities and daily life at
the school.
