The Maranyundo School was founded by a still active
group of supporters in Boston. It is now owned and led by the Benebikira
Sisters, a Rwandan order of Roman Catholic nuns, highly respected for their
commitment to academic excellence and their unwavering compassion and heroism
during the genocide. Under their leadership, and with the help of dedicated
teachers from Rwanda and Uganda, the students are taught the full National
Curriculum, with an emphasis on developing the self-confidence, knowledge and
skills necessary for success in school and in life. The Maranyundo School
community has high standards, believing that all students, no matter their
personal background, can succeed at the highest level.
