The Advisor will lead INWA’s technical assistance to the
district governments. This technical assistance should focus on sustainability
and use a systems approach to strengthening districts’ capacity to provide
high-quality nutrition and WASH programming. As CHWs are drivers of the GOR’s
community-level health interventions, INWA must recognize that CHWs’ time is
limited and they have competing interests. INWA should focus on best practices,
local solutions, and innovative methods to improve retention and motivation for
providing high-quality nutrition and WASH services among CHWs. Existing
structures, such as CHW cooperatives should be leveraged for retention and
motivation.
