Development and Facilitation Officer – MITC
Incumbent will be reporting to the Trade Development and Facilitation
Manager
Facilitating contact between potential exporters and financial institutions
where necessary, Conducting after-care services to exporters and buyers to
ensure that challenges to exporting are indentified and addr
essed, Identifying
products and services with expert potential and work with potential exporters
to develop products to exportable level, Meeting with and providing
information, counselling and support to local and foreign buyers interested in
exploring new business opportunities in Malawi, Assisting prospective buyers in
arranging site visits and in obtaining necessary Government approvals permits
and licences, Linking producers and exporters with standardisation and
regulatory bodies both locally and internationally, Reporting monthly on the
status of assigned trade development and facilitation service, providing
written response to inquiries or requests for information/assistance from
exporters and importers, Assessing products for export
potential I areas such as quality, price and competitiveness, capacity to
supply and work with potential exporters to overcome the constraints, Advising
prospective exporters on export processes required and sector specific issues
to be adhered to, Identifying exporter training requirements to improve export
products and develop and conduct extension programmes and training courses to
address the training gaps
Incumbent should have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Marketing or
comparable qualification with a minimum of 3 yrs experience in marketing, sales
or public relations, Good interpersonal skills as well as basic computer
literacy are essential, Applicants who are proficient in one or more foreign
languages (preferably Portuguese) will have an added advantage
