TANATHI Water Services Board is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water and Irrigation created under Section 51 of the Water Act, 2002 vide Legal Notice No. 69 dated 4th June, 2008.
The Board has the legal mandate of ensuring efficient and economical provision of water services within its area of jurisdiction which covers Kajiado, Makueni, Machakos and Kitui Counties.
The Board is now seeking to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the following position:
Manager – Legal & Corporate Affairs

Position Scope:
He/She will be the Head of the Legal & Corporate Affairs Section and will be responsible for all documentation relating to the Board as a statutory body, the legal and corporate activities of the Board and will be the Principal legal advisor to the Board.
Key Responsibilities:
• Continuous monitoring and review of regulations governing the operations of the Board and licensed Water Service Providers to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Arrangement for Board meetings and coordination of the preparation of agendas and Board papers for Board meetings.
• Taking minutes and ensuring that signed and confirmed minutes are filed in minute books.
• Draft and vet all legal contracts and agreements to be entered into between the Board and any other party.
• Conducting legal audit of the licensed Water Service Providers to ensure that they meet requirements of service provision agreement (SPA) and corporate governance guidelines.
• Management of Board’s litigation functions in liaison with the State Law Office, attendance in court as appropriate and ensuring that the Board obtains effective representation as necessary.
• Management of the corporate affairs and corporate social responsibility functions of the Board.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications;
• A Bachelor degree in law (LL.B) from a university recognized by the Kenya School of Law.
• Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holder of a valid practicing certificate.
• Certified Public Secretary (CPS (K) or its equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience.
• Good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
• Computer literate and basic ICT literacy.
