glass containers mainly for the beverage industry. Operating for over 20 years
they currently operate one blast furnace that is designed to produce 100 tons
of glass per day as well as the ancillary equipment to decorate beverage
bottles. They form part of a major beverage group that operate across Sub
Sahara Africa with operations in Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya and Ghana.

Job
Description

Should
take complete responsibility of all furnace and batch house operations
Close
coordination with the team members of own team and other department heads
to achieve the end result is a must. Should design a diplomatic feedback
mechanism to take the team along
Responsible
for the effective energy management
Responsible
for the planning and execution of small, minor repairs for maintenance of
batch house and furnace in good operating condition for its life
Should
ensure good manufacturing systems in place in terms of checklist, log
books, history tracking for effective maintenance management for batch
house and furnace operations
Should
establish right (predictive, preventative & breakdown) maintenance
practices for all the equipment related to furnace and batch house
Responsible
for planning and procurement of raw materials required for manufacturing
of glass both locally and from other international suppliers
Should
be able to solve day to day problems regarding glass quality and also
should have ability to do effective color changes as plant requirement
Should
focus on safety for personnel and equipment. Should comply with health
practices as per the law
