As a UI Designer, a typical day might include the following:
- Establish
and drive the online brand strategy across all platforms - Define
and maintain brand digital design standards and guidelines - Lead
the creation of user-centric UI designs and interactions, with a focus on
mobile first design - Work
directly with UX designers to define visual layouts and execute the visual
implementation of prototypes, wireframes and customer feedback into
exceptional user interfaces - Collaborate
closely with Product Managers, Business stakeholders and Developers
throughout the design process - Execute/review
various visual design stages from concept to final Development hand-off - Gather
internal feedback to refine and iterate on concepts and perform revisions
based on user feedback - Coach,
and mentor junior UI Designers by guiding and reviewing their work - Offer
recommendations in order to improve efficiency and quality of work - Stay
up to date with competitive and web design trends and technologies
Essential
Skills and Experience
Skills and Experience
- Relevant
degree/diploma - Highly
proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications / Sketch - At
least 4 years UI design experience with a strong portfolio of work across
multiple digital platforms - Strong
mobile and app design experience - Knowledge
and proven experience of UI design for mobile first projects - Strong
digital brand style guide and brand asset management experience - Previous
experience working in e-commerce/travel/transactional platforms - An
understanding of the technical aspects of digital design and how they
influence design decisions - A
keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills - Self-motivated
with the ability to take ownership and see projects through to completion - Deadline
driven with the ability to work at a fast pace when needed - An
understanding of user experience or experience working with UX designers - A
passion for UI design and the desire to make a difference
