thing we promise: you’ll never get bored
the role
Kinetic IT is responsible for managing some of the largest ICT environments in
Australia. We’re now on the lookout for a junior systems administrator to
become the newest member of our enterprise operations team. Put simply, this
team is responsible for ensuring the stability of the entire ICT environment.
We like to call them the watchkeepers of infrastructure; they remotely monitor
sites and datacentres whilst managing alerts, events and incidents across
multiple services. In the world of Kinetic IT, the enterprise operations team
is famous for having an awesome team culture built on high-performance and an
insatiable hunger for technical knowledge.
In addition to infrastructure support, you’ll be responsible for resolving
tickets escalated from desktop and field service teams. Your passion for
information sharing will come in handy and will see you actively participating
in the development of an in-depth knowledge base. This role stresses the point
of being tech-savvy whilst still focusing on the customer experience as a
matter of priority. Working as part of the enterprise operations team will
provide you with broad business exposure and a perfect gateway for moving into
other types of roles within our company.
About you
You’re recognised by your peers as an up-and-coming systems engineer with good
experience working on a variety of enterprise platforms – including desktops,
servers, storage and networks. You’re comfortable working in large, robust and
high-availability ICT environments (bonus points for managed services and ITIL
experience). Despite having the ability to understand technical jargon, you
prefer to speak in a language everyone can understand and, just like Kinetic
IT, you have a passion for keeping things simple. You consider yourself to be
analytical and tech-savvy, but you’re still happy picking up the phone and
chatting with end-users when required.
You’ll be able to demonstrate the following capabilities:
- Manage
alerts, events and incidents across multiple services - Resolve
tickets escalated from service desk and desktop teams - Monitor
the availability and stability of enterprise infrastructure - Perform
a variety of sys. admin tasks; i.e. creating AD accounts - Publish
and review knowledge-base articles and documentation.
top of being a jack of all trades, it stand to reason you’ll have the
following:
- Industry
relevant certifications (i.e. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) - Top
notch communication skills – both written and verbal - A
collaborative yet decisive approach to decision making - A
patient, analytical and collaborative style of working
