Location: Minden, Ontario
The Kinark Outdoor Center (KOC) facilitates a range of outdoor education, therapeutic recreation and experiential adventure programs designed to meet the specific needs of its diverse client population. Visiting groups include: children’s mental health centers, community living agencies, elementary and secondary schools, colleges, universities, and various organizations serving youth and adults with special needs.
We are looking for outstanding individuals from the fields of education, adventure programming, social services and recreation to assist in the development, delivery and evaluation of small and large group programs at the Center.
Required Qualifications for this position include:
• A degree/diploma in outdoor or therapeutic recreation, education, human services or enrollment in a related program
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
• Experience in residential camping/outdoor education
• Qualifications and/or technical experience in three or more of: aquatics, canoeing, kayaking, wilderness tripping, arts & crafts, drama, environmental education, high/low ropes courses, climbing, and adventure programming
• Advanced Wilderness First Aid and an F-class license would be considered an asset.
Outdoor Educators work on a group to group booking basis, September through to December. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and resume, no later than August 10.
