Description:
A number of Foundation Year 2 vacancies will be available in Scotland commencing August 2011. Applicants should have a medical degree from a UK or EEA university or a recognised General Medical Council (GMC) equivalent. Exact details of the vacancies and the locations and specialties involved are not available but further details of the hospitals and specialties involved in all the Scottish foundation programmes are available for information on the NHS Education for Scotland website www.nes.scot.nhs.uk under medicine/postgraduate training/foundation/programmes by region. Candidates will have the opportunity to rank the regions of Scotland (North, East, South East and West) in order of preference at the time of application. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview and successful candidates will be allocated a post in Scotland, taking their regional preference into account. Interviews will be held on 31st May and 1st June in Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee. Applicants for FY2 posts should have full GMC registration and should be able to demonstrate evidence of ability to undertake the core clinical and generic skills required of all doctors at the end of FY1. Posts will be recognised for training. Non UK/EEA applicants should ensure they are aware of the immigration rules for Postgraduate Doctors/Dentists.
