Our Client, FARMBUILDERS LIBERIA, is a social enterprise whose mission is to pioneer a market-based mechanism to jump start development of successful farm businesses throughout Liberia. In partnership with Buchanan Renewables Fuel, a clean energy supply company operating in Liberia since 2007, Farm Builders offers replanting, management, marketing, financing and technical support to owners of small and medium-sized rubber farms, many of which were destroyed or poorly maintained during the war. In addition to sponsorship from Buchanan Renewables Fuel in Liberia, Farm Builders has also received prestigious awards for social innovation from Echoing Green, the Mulango Foundation, and a competition jointly sponsored by the International Finance Corporation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Agence Francaise de Development.

POSITION TITLE: Controller.

Role & Responsibilities
The Controller will be primarily responsible for coordinating, planning, and reporting on the financial activities of the company. S/he will report directly to the CEO of FARMBUILDERS and will have interaction with the CFO of Buchanan Renewables. The Controller will implement financial policies and a new accounting system of record keeping that includes the proper set of internal controls to ensure efficiency and honesty. This is a hands-on position. This person will also be responsible for payroll, budgeting, insurance, establishing a cost accounting system, pricing and working with customized software for financial management. This person will work with managerial staff and other employees, as well as banks, corporations and government agencies.

Qualification and Experience
” Qualified CA or MBA degree
” College Degree in Accounting from a recognized University
” Two to five years of successful Controller experience
” Familiarity with IFRS rulings, solid written and communication skills
” Some experience in agriculture and production cost accounting
” Knowledge and experience with ACCPAC or other automated general Ledger accounting packages will be an added advantage.
