PART TIME COOK, IRIS COURT – EDMONTON, AB
Iris Court is a
housing program owned and operated by the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta,
which houses 21 individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. 3
Meals and 2 sn
acks are provided daily.
Salary: Part time
$17 per hour/ Full time $18
Hours of Work: Part
Time up to 32hrs per week/ Full Time 40hrs per week Days/Evenings/Weekends,
7am-3pm or 10am-6pm, Shifts will vary
Duties include:
Performing a variety of cooking duties in accordance with the approved menus,
food production guidelines, standardized recipes, cleaning and department
policies and procedures. The cook is required to maintain a high standard of
sanitation and cleanliness in the Food Service Area in compliance with
Provincial Public Health Regulations, Food Safe Standards and Accommodations
Standards and licensing Standards. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: High
School Diploma is required/Certificate in Food Safety is required/A Journeyman
Cook Certificate is preferred.
Experience:
Previous related quantity cooking experience in a health care setting or
hospitality industry is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education, skills and experience may be
considered.
Qualifications:
• Min 3 years dietary experience preferably in the health field
• Food Handling Certificate
• Criminal records check
• Ability to work independently
• Follow kitchen cleaning processes
• Have knowledge of meal portioning
• Fluency in English, comprehend written and oral instruction
• WHIMIS/First Aid
• Cook credentials considered an asset
• Variable schedule, including weekends
