The
IUCN Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) is establishing a
Regional Centre of Excellence on Forest Landscape Restoration based in Kigali
Rwanda. The aim of the centre is to provide technical support to regional
efforts towards the restoration of 150 million hectares of degraded and
deforested lands by 2020 – also known as the Bonn Challenge. The Bonn Challenge
is an initiative of the Global Partnership on Forest Landscape Restoration
(GPFLR), for which IUCN provides the Secretariat.

Forest Landscape Restoration Coordinator will be a Senior landuse specialist
and will lead the regional delivery of economically, socially and
environmentally feasible and innovative solutions to engage countries on
large-scale forest and landscape efforts of the Bonn Challenge. S/he will
therefore not only be an experienced manager but also have a strong technical
background on issues related to land-use dynamics and the restoration of forest
and agricultural landscapes. S/he will support the FLR programme and its
development in a multiple countries including Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia as
well as Rwanda.

REQUIREMENTS
· Master’s degree in
forestry/agroforestry, natural resources management, biodiversity conservation
or other relevant discipline;

· Minimum 7-10 years of
experience in developing, managing and implementing multi-stakeholder projects
with defined objectives, deliverables, monitoring and evaluation of results,
including proven experience working in Eastern and Southern Africa;
