International
Service – Rwanda offers 12-weeks In-Country Volunteer and In-Country Team
Leader placements on the ICS programme. International Citizen Service (ICS) is
a program funded by the UK Government and run by a consortium of UK charities
working in developing countries.
In Rwanda,
International Service works in partnership with local development organisations
called AJPRODHO –Jijukirwa and Bamporeze Association in the Northern Province
specifically in Rulindo D
istrict and in the Eastern province Gatsibo District
to implement ICS program with an intention of extending to other Districts. We
provide opportunity for youth in Rwanda and the UK Volunteers to work in areas
such as Human rights promotion, Child rights, Women and youth empowerment,
Disability Rights, Livelihoods Skills Support and Education with local partners.
You can apply as a In-Country Team Leaders
if you are aged between 23-28
year olds and you are committed to volunteering, you have an
experience of working and leading a group of young people, you have good
communication and relational skills,you have accomplished your university
studies, you are fluent in English and Kinyarwanda and knowing French would be
an added advantage , you are able to live and work in rural community and in a
host family living context, you are looking for an experience that could change
your life and are motivated to make changes to your communities and to gain
skills and experience in managing a multicultural team of volunteers and lastly
you are available and free from any other commitment from 18th September to
22nd December 2016 (12 weeks placement).
