Job Description:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking to recruit a Grants
Coordinator

Responsibilities
• Work with Program Coordinator and Program Sector heads in the development of
new projects and funding proposals in consultation with Senior Management Team.
• Maintain proper records of all grants and sub-grants.
• Act as focal point in all communications with IRC Regional Unit and IRC UK
office on grants management issues, including sharing of monthly grant tracking
updates.
• Act as focal point in facilitating proposal and donor report reviews and
approvals by technical advisors and other relevant persons at HQ (including
maintaining OTIS).
• Maintain close collaboration with all relevant departments in preparation of
proposals and donor reports.
• Ensure that grants are implemented in compliance with the relevant donor
regulations and IRC procedures.
• Work with Program Coordinator and M&E Manager to develop and maintain
program and grant tracking tools (i.e. monthly report templates, indicator
tracking sheets, procurements plans, etc). Identify and share gaps with Program
management teams.
• Ensure and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual donor reports,
in close cooperation with Program Coordinator and M&E Manager.
• Lead in coordination of all grants opening and closing meetings.
• Train and support program staff on donor compliance, report writing, project
and budget monitoring, record keeping, and grants management..
• Develop a communication and visibility strategy and support preparation of
materials such as brochures and newsletters.
• Store, organize and disseminate key project documents among relevant staff in
country.
• Act as custodian of documentation of institutional knowledge and program
activities in coordination with relevant sector supervisors and coordinators.


Requirements
• Degree / Master’s in international affairs, public administration, or related
subject
• At least three years experience working in relief or development programs
• Previous experience working with international non-governmental organizations
in the area of program development and/or management; prior experience working
with US, UN, WB, and EU donors an advantage.
• Previous successful experience developing projects and writing proposals to
donors
• International experience with experience in Africa.
 Skills and
Abilities: Strong proposal writing and budgeting skills, IT proficiency,
excellent communication and writing skills, good interpersonal skills, ability
to work in a team setting, ability and willingness to travel to remote areas,
and ability to prioritize high volumes of work to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent English written and verbal communications skills; Swahili a plus

Specific Security Situation/Housing:
The position is based in the rural town of Kasulu in Tanzania’s northwest
Kigoma region, and requires regular monitoring visits to the refugee camp of
Nyarugusu, IRC Tanzania main office in Dar es Salaam, the transit center in
Kigoma, and DOL project sites in Tanga and Kigoma. It is unaccompanied position
with modest shared housing facility. General security situation in Tanzania is
calm.
