Responsibilities
• The Laboratory Technician will observe and make pictures of the different
flower development stages.
• Pollinate the different flower development stages.
• Maintain excellent breeding records.
• Oversee bunch harvesting and ripening.
• Extract banana seeds.

• Ensure timely delivery of seeds to the tissue culture lab.
• Assist the banana team in breeding and field activities.
• Report findings orally and in writing.
• Other official duties as assigned by the banana breeder.
Required
Qualifications/Experience
• The candidate should have a Diploma Certificate in Agronomy, Pathology,
Physiology, breeding or related discipline.
• Preferably work experience in agricultural sciences or other research
environment.
• Flexibility, reliability and honesty.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• The ability to work independently and as a team member.

The initial contract for the position is for two years: renewable subject to
