International IDEA Finance and Administrative Officer Job Vacancy in Ghana

The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) is an intergovernmental organization that supports sustainable democracy worldwide.
The West Africa office of International IDEA based in Accra, Ghana is currently seeking to appoint a
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER who will be responsible for providing the required analytical, financial and administrative support to the Ghana Office in the implementation of their activities to ensure that financial accounting and reporting responsibilities are accomplished in an effective and efficient manner and within all procedural guidelines of IDEA.

The key functions of this challenging post are:
• Financial Management of all project activities and operations in order to ensure that finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner and comply with relevant policies and procedures set by International IDEA.
• Administrative planning and support to the Accra Office

The major responsibilities will include:
o Ensuring adherence to IDEA financial and administrative rules and practices
o Administer funds and oversee budget expenditures;
o Prepare, analyze and submit financial statements and reports;
o Coordinates procurement and performance management of suppliers and contractors
o Prepare for and respond to the office audit;
o Acts as a Facilities Manager for the office

Applicants must have an appropriate degree and at least 3 years experience, in managing financial accounts, contract management and budgeting; financial analysis and reporting and administrative support. Similar experience in EU and/or UN systems is highly desirable.

Candidates must display excellent oral and written communications skills, attention to detail, ability to analyze fiscal data and work both independently and as a team member. Excellent organisational skills, initiative and the ability to set priorities and work under pressure are essential.
