Farm: Magnificent Hill
Location: Highland Grove, near Haliburton & Algonquin Park, Ontario
On Magnificent Hill, we continue to grow and raise our own chemical
free food since 2002, located 20 minutes south of Algonquin Park – we
attract cottagers and tourists to the Hill.
With the help of Wwoofer’s and interns we can open the farm gate to our guests.
On the 100 acre farm known as the Hill we care for: 3 acres of gardens
and orchard – bees – goats – pigs – cows, allowing us to seldom go to
the grocery store.
We require an intern from April to October who is willing and able to
learn and experience all aspects of sustainable and self-sufficient
homesteading – from planting – harvesting – farm gate sales – to
tending to the needs of the animals. While assisting with our Farm
tours and pizza parties – this program encourages our guests to
experience a field to table meal – the pizzas are cooked in the
outdoor wood fired oven in less that 90 seconds. In exchange for your
volunteer assistance we will an Magnificent experience as well as room
and board.
