Accountable to the Rotating Equipment Engineer (TA) to:
Provide technical support to the Operations Team in the delivery of project overhaul campaigns or resolution
of key machinery integrity and operational issues.
Plan and manage condition monitoring campaigns.
Review and analyse condition monitoring data and actively discuss problems and improvements with discipline engineers

Following removal from service, review onshore overhauls and attend repair facilities for interface and witness activities as appropriate.
Management of 3rd party condition monitoring support contracts as delegated by the Rotating Equipment Engineer (TA).
Carry out maintenance and spares reviews where required.
Provide technical support to loss investigations and action follow up activities where directed.
Maintain the lifecycle technical integrity of the offshore installations by ensuring appropriate condition monitoring activities are in place and integrity strategies, engineering standards, procedures and guidance documents are adhered to in all activities.
Assess performance and condition monitoring results, ensuring appropriate follow up.
Support Technical Authority in the assessment of anomalies, deviations from standard and maintenance deferrals, developing risk mitigations and producing technical reports where appropriate.
Single point of accountability for MDC for condition monitoring activities and management of process improvements where directed.

Scope of equipment covered includes all high and low speed rotating equipment systems including pumps, gas turbines, power turbines, gearboxes, hydrocarbon and utility compressors, electric motors and alternators.

Cost Management, Contract Management & Planning
Develop budgets for condition monitoring in line with Cost Management process.
Manage designated support contracts for the Assets, complete relevant scorecards and hold regular performance review meetings.
Actively input into Day Plans supporting the associated planning processes and requirements.

Reporting
Carry out routine maintenance history reviews within discipline ensuring forward plans are established for identified equipment performance gaps (KPI’s, history, trends, backlogs etc).
Support the continual improvement of Maintenance & Integrity Status Reports & associated KPI’s.

Education & Qualifications:

Essential:
Degree or equivalent professional qualification in mechanical engineering or significant experience in a similar role.
Minimum of three years oil industry experience in a technical position
Current Offshore Medical and Survival Certificate.

Preferred:
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with an appropriate engineering council registered body.

Experience:

Essential:
Previous Condition Monitoring Engineer experience in the UKCS with a sound knowledge of the functionality and operation issues associated with rotating equipment on typical offshore installations.
Understanding of Condition Monitoring techniques and their applications offshore
Experienced in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as MAXIMO
Proven experience in the development of condition monitoring strategies and associated routines, use of maintenance management systems and maintenance deferral processes.
Awareness of hazard identification, risk assessment techniques and management of change processes.
Awareness of key legislation and regulatory framework applicable to UKCS offshore regime including major accident hazards, performance standards, assurance and verification activities. Sound knowledge of the entire budget management cycle, from procure to pay, with demonstrable experience of managing annual budgets in excess of £500K.
Awareness of engineering practices, codes and standards and their application to development and management of lifecycle asset integrity assurance programmes.
Ability to effectively prioritise issues and workload such to ensure delivery in critical work areas.
Computer literate with proven ability in Microsoft Office packages, e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, with peers, sub-contract personnel and line supervision.

Preferred:
Knowledge of brownfield project engineering processes (modifications).
A good understanding of available specialist vendors (external network) providing technical support services.
Proven experience in direct management of vendors providing maintenance/engineering support on offshore facilities.
