experienced volunteer Computer Teacher starting as soon as possible.
IEFT is a registered non-profit organization that
collaborates with rural communities in Northern Tanzania to provide quality,
affordable secondary education to indigenous children. IEFT operates the
Orkeeswa Secondary School which is populated by motivated students and an upbeat

Job Description:
IEFT is looking for an experienced and energetic
professional educator to volunteer as an Computer Teacher at Orkeeswa. As
Computer and Technology Teacher, you must be able to….
Responsibilities:
  • Develop lesson plans
  • Initiate after-school projects designed to
    provide hands-on learning, teaching students skills that will increase
    their comfort with technology and their skills with Computer Processing.
  • Work independently and collaborate with a team
    of international volunteers and local staff

Qualifications:
  • A 1-year commitment, is highly preferred.
  • Volunteers must have a strong command of the
    English Language, preferably native speakers.
  • You must be at least 21 years old to apply
  • A degree in education and/or technology or
    experience teaching are required
  • You must have the willingness and ability to
    be flexible and to cope with challenging living and working conditions in
    a developing country.
  • Applicants must be able to live and work with
    little or no running water, unreliable electricity and a lack of Western
    amenities.
By working together with IEFT staff and volunteers,
you will benefit from a real sense of global solidarity and the life changing
impact of a unique and meaningful experience. You will gain a deeper insight
into a different culture and experience things that broaden your perspectives.
Volunteers and staff have the freedom to explore
some of East Africa’s treasures, including safaris on the Serengeti Plain,
climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, hiking the Ngorongoro Crater, or relaxing on the
beaches of Zanzibar Island. Experience Tanzania’s diverse indigenous cultures
and traditions, distinct wildlife and breathtaking scenery!
There is no program fee to volunteer with IEFT,
however candidates are required to cover their travel and living expenses.
