Background
is a non-profit-making organization in accordance with law N°20/2000 of July
26′, 2000 governing non-profit-making organizations, with the purpose of
empowering communities and building partnerships.
Foundation’s vision is: a nation of empowered and dignified Rwandans. The
Imbuto Foundation’s mission is: to support the development of healthy, educated
and prosperous society.
Through its projects,
the Imbuto Foundation contributes to the fight against HIV/ AIDS through
prevention and care strategies. Amongst the projects, there is Family Package
project which was designed to promote a comprehensive approach to PMTCT that
complements the standard PMTCT package. Family package emphasizes on male
partner involvement, nutritional psychosocial support through peer education,
integration of Family planning and socio-economic empowerment through Income
Generating Activities (IGAs). In collaboration with Health Centers and
associations of people living with HIV/AIDS, using peer education approach
clients are sensitized , in particular PLWHA and discordant couples with the
overall objective of increasing access to HIV prevention, care and treatment.
Duties and responsibilities
will discharge his/her duties within Imbuto Foundation. The incumbent will
report on a day to day basis to the Head of Health Unit, under the supervision
of Deputy Director General and overall guidance of the Director General in
accordance with his/her contractual obligation with the organization.
Scope of responsibilities
- Draw up an overall work-plan and
budget for the project; - Implement and support the
effective application of project activities and ensure timely
implementation of project activities as outlined in the work-plan; - Facilitate the formulation of new
project activities; - Advise on strategic issues related
to the projects; - Represent IF in projects relevant
meetings, workshops, conferences — locally or abroad; - Prepare and submit monthly,
quarterly, mid-year and year-end reporting and set annual baselines/
indicators & targets of project activities;

- Strategic vision and strong
analytical capabilities; - Excellent organizational and
management skills; - Ability to perform a variety of
specialized tasks related to Results Management, including support for
design, planning and implementation of programs, managing data, reporting; - Creativity and pro-activeness and
an ability to tap sources of knowledge for innovative ideas, - Willingness to learn from and
consult with colleagues for inputs and information sharing; - Ability to provide adequate
organizational advice when required; - Displays sound judgment that
enables independent work; - Builds strong relationships with
other development partners;
Required skills and experience
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a
development related field, i.e. Public Health, Nursing, Social Sciences ; - A minimum of 3 years relevant
experience in project management; - Hands-ort experience in monitoring
and evaluation of development projects; - Excellent writing skills and
computer literate; - Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English
and a good working knowledge of French is an asset.
