Key Responsibilities:
• Drive the IFC Country Manager and Staff to meetings and business sites, including missions to neighboring countries.
• Pick up visitors from/to the office, airport, hotels, or meeting places.
• Collect and deliver official letters, invoices and parcels from clients, the banks, the World Bank, as needed.
• Collect the official pouch from the World Bank office and record and distribute it accordingly.
• Liaise with Country Manager’s Program Assistant regarding the Country Manager’s schedule.
• Any other duties as may be required for the mission of the IFC Office. Vehicle Maintenance:
• Maintain the office vehicles and their log books.
• Ensure that the office vehicles are clean at all times including the engine compartment.
• Be aware of and ensure the maintenance of all schedules for vehicles including: insurance, registration and general service schedules. Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Supervise any IFC-employed temporary drivers to ensure that:
• IFC vehicles are well maintained – mechanically and in terms of cleanliness.
• IFC log books are maintained on a daily basis.
• The vehicle keys are appropriately maintained and securely stored.
• The general wear and tear of the interior fittings of the vehicles are checked.
• The vehicles are inspected daily for tyre pressure, engine oil, brake fluid, radiator coolant, fuel level, battery water level and any other requirements.
• The vehicles are equipped with a spare tyre(s), tool kit, jack, wheel spanner, tow rope, jump leads, a set of necessary fan belts, fire extinguisher and first aid tool box.
Selection Criteria
• Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years driving experience; candidates with defensive driving skills will be preferred.
• Valid driving Licence.
• Fluency in spoken and written English; French language skills an advantage.
• Good knowledge of the city of Accra. References on candidates’ driving record will be required.
