ICRC ,Interpreter Jobs in Rwanda

Interpreter

Location: Rwanda and Burundi
The ICRC is seeking interpreters in
Kinyarwanda and Kirundi, to support its protection work in the Great Lakes
region,

including participation in visits to places of detention.

The Geneva Conventions mandate the ICRC
to visit both prisoners of war and civilians interned during conflict. We also
visit people detained in other situations of violence. Our visits aim to ensure
humane treatment for detainees, and we work with authorities to prevent abuse
and improve conditions. For more information on our work visiting detainees
please see: https://www.icrc.org/en/what-we-do/visiting-detainees
For reasons related to the
institution’s working procedure, in particular its principle of neutrality,
ICRC personnel cannot be nationals or originate from the country where visits
take place.
