ICFO International PhD Fellowships Program

ICFO
is now accepting applications for fellowships for PhD programme. Applicants of
all nationalities are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme. 

As
an institution, ICFO strives to be a resource for science, technology and
talent and to provide ICFO researchers with unique skills to become successful
and independent future leaders, both in the academic and industrial worlds.

The
main objective of the university is to provide high quality, comprehensive
educational and training opportunities that are compatible to changing needs of
the students.
In

Scholarship Description:

Course Level:
 Fellowships are available for pursuing PhD programme.
Study Subject: Fellowships will be offered
across all ICFO research groups in the following research areas:
  • Biophysics & Biomedical Optics
  • Optical
    Sensing, Optoelectronics & Photovoltaics
  • Nonlinear
    Optics, Ultrafast Optics & Atto-Physics
  • Nanophotonics,
    Optomechanics & Nanomechanics
  • Experimental
    Quantum Optics & Quantum Information
  • Theoretical
    Nanophotonics, Quantum Optics & Quantum Information
  • Scholarship
    Award: Fellowships include medical care coverage and work accident
    insurance through the Spanish social security system, providing access to
    the Spanish public health care system.
Nationality: International
Number of Scholarships: Up to 15 PhD-fellowship
positions are available.
Scholarship can be taken in Spain

 

Eligibility for the
Scholarship:

Eligible Countries:  Applicants of all
nationalities are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.
Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet
following criteria:
  • Have an
    internationally-recognized Master-equivalent degree. The degree must be in
    a field of science and engineering related to the ICFO research
    activities. Degrees issued within the European Higher Education Area
    (EHEA) must have an equivalent to 300 ECTS, out of which a minimum of 60
    ECTS must have been obtained in postgraduate studies. Please, if in doubt

  • Have an
    excellent academic record, previous research experience and a strong
    commitment for scientific research.
English Language Requirements: Applicants must have
high working knowledge of English.

  • A
    Curriculum Vitae, including contact details,
  • Scanned
    copies of the complete (Bachelor and Master equivalent) academic
    transcripts in English or Spanish,
  • Scanned
    copies of the degree certificates, if available at the time of
    application,
  • IMPORTANT:
    The candidate should ask 2 referees, to be indicated in the online
    application form, to send reference

    deadline.
  • The
    print-out of the equivalence calculation of your academic results/

  • If
    available, scanned copy of standardized test results (GRE, TOEFL, etc.).
    Note that submission of test results is optional, but they can be
    particularly helpful for evaluating candidates with degrees obtained
    outside the European Higher Education Area.
