The Internal Audit department works closely with
all divisions in the bank to review the quality and effectiveness of the
controls within the divisions so as to mitigate risk and protect the assets of
the bank. The role holder will work within a solid Audit team on a range of
audit engagements that will include integrated audits focused on Risk based
parameters while providing assurance that risks have been identified and
effective controls are in place t

o manage these risks; with an aim that the
Audit function delivers high quality assurance and advisory service to the
Bank.

Roles and
responsibilities
  • Draw up plans for the
    assigned individual audit projects/activities.
  • As and when delegated,
    supervise and participate in the execution of individual audits.
  • Reporting of audit findings
    to the Head of Internal Audit function.
  • Make recommendations for
    improving management controls.
  • Conduct special tasks as
    requested by the Head of Internal Audit function and/or management/Board.
  • Creation of staff awareness
    on risk management.
Required skills
and capabilities
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a
    minimum of upper second class honors or its equivalent.
  • Should have (or be working
    towards) relevant professional qualification or affiliation in accountancy
    and auditing such as ACCA part II, CPA part III, and IIA Internal Audit
    Certification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
    with progressive responsibility in professional auditing.
  • Thorough knowledge of the
    principles, practices, and techniques of accounting and auditing.
  • Knowledge of operational risk
    and control processes & procedures in credible financial institutions
    would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the techniques,
    tests, and sampling methods involved in conducting audits and the
    requirements of auditing standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to
    gather, analyse, evaluate facts, prepare and present concise oral and
    written reports.
  • Ability to lead, schedule and
    direct the activities of other team members in accomplishing the goals of
    the department and review work in progress upon completion (when
    delegated).
  • Good knowledge of Human
    Resource Management principles and practices.
  • Computer skills in conducting
    audit activities.
  • Good communication skills and
    ability to work with different calibres of people
