How to Handle Addiction to Electronic Media

Addiction is meaningfully described as habitual repetition of excessive behavior that a person is unable or unwilling to stop, despite its harmful consequences. Does these words describe how you use the electronic media? If yes, then you are addicted.
With the advent of technological advancement and persuasive advertisements of some electronics gadgets which include the computers, mobile phones, Television and the internet, many has found it difficult to live without them or even get their eyes off these gadgets even as short as an hour a day.
The computer and the internet has gradually metamorphosed from a means of searching for information and sending of mails to the best place for dating and social networking which is the best selling factor that determine why people want to get these things. With the advent of Twitter, Facebook, Yookos, Foursquare, and the likes, it is very common to see people battling to get off these site for fear of missing their friend update, virtually keeping them glued to their computer screen.
The mobile phones is also another strong means of addiction to electronic media. Today you can make a call, listen to music, watch a show, play a game, e-mail your friends, take a picture and access the internet on a single device you can carry in your pocket. This has made it possible to keep in touch even on the go thereby leading to abuse and outright addiction by most users.
The electronics media was supposed to make life easier for the users and not enslave them, so exercise moderation with the use of these wonderful technological inventions.
