The HiVE is home for organizations and individuals working in the sustainability and creativity sectors. We provide a shared work space with a dynamic cafe-like studio culture that facilitates creativity, collaboration, and social innovation. The HiVE is modeled after many successful co-location spaces around the world, where members save money through sharing infrastructure and amenities like business equipment, telecommunications, receptionist, meeting spaces, event spaces, kitchen, lounge, etc. The HiVE is comprised of a diverse membership base, ranging from artists and freelance designers, to small social enterprises, to mid-size NGOs and green businesses. Beyond saving money on office space, the social and business connections created among members is among the greatest benefit.
Vancouver’s only coworking space and innovation hub for sustainability and creativity professionals, the HiVE, recently opened its doors…and we want you!
We’re looking for fresh minds interested in creative approaches to sustainability and social change to join the HiVE’s first team of interns. The interns will be at the heart of the HiVE community, helping to keep the space buzzing day-to-day. In addition, each intern will define a particular area of focus to help move the HiVE towards its longer term goals. If you have a background or interest in any of the following–and we’re open to other suggestions–we want to hear from you:
• fundraising
• interior decorating / industrial design / architecture
• community-building and recruiting new members
• running a flexible, diverse, inspiring space
• communications
In return, interns will have the great opportunity to:
• Connect with an incredibly diverse group of professionals with a commitment to sustainability, creativity and social change
• Receive a complimentary HiVE community membership, including invitations to HiVE events and special rates on amenities
• Access up to 40 hours of free Hot Desk time each month (“HiVE 40”), working with a fun group of people in a café-like atmosphere
• Gain experience and a professional reference
