Our client in the manufacturing industry seeks to hire a Technical Sales
Advisor. The position reports directly to the Commercial Operations
Manager and is Supervised by Key Accounts Executive.
Job
Purpose:
The
job exists to provide technical and sales support to the field sales team by
providing technical support covering all aspects of cement and concrete by
providing value addition to our clients.
Context
/ Challenges:
  • The
    Technical Sales Advisor (TSA) is responsible for providing technical and
    sales support to the Key Accounts Executive role. Technical support will
    be both proactive and reactive.
  • Proactive
    technical support will involve assisting in the preparation of technical
    sales pitches for prospective customers, especially with the discussion
    involving our products and their applications. Further, visits to customer
    sites to discuss technical aspects of our products, as well as client
    issues and concerns will also be covered by the TSA.
  • Reactive
    technical support will involve responding to customer complaints concerned
    with cement and/or concrete performance. The TSA will also be responsible
    for developing and employing the site testing protocol to respond to
    complaints regarding our products, as well as the continual improvement of
    the same.
  • For
    sales support, the TSA will also make regular scheduled visits to
    construction sites to pick up on issues concerned with cement in general
    and with our products in particular. The TSA will therefore have critical
    practical input and feedback for the quality team at the plant. 
MAJOR
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
  • Responding
    to and closing all customer complaints.
  • Selling
    to customers Technical benefits of Lafarge products.
  • Develop
    and continually improve a site testing protocol in response to customer
    complaints concerned with quality.
  • Preparing
    a weekly or monthly technical report from the market.
  • Proactively
    picking up on any quality issues in the market.
  • Advising
    customers on the best application of our products (Technical hotline).

    with the quality team at the plant from a commercial perspective.

    technical market feedback to the quality team.

    short residential technical support to clients.

Technical

The position reports directly to the Production Manager. 
Job
Purpose:
To
ensure that the production process parameters are maintained to produce quality
products that conform to Kenya Bureau of Standards specifications and internal
BSP standards.
NATURE
AND SCOPE
This
position reports to the Production Manager as does the Production Supervisor,
Maintenance Supervisor, and Works Administration Clerk. The job holder works in
liaison with the Production Supervisor in setting out operational procedures
and controls to ensure the production of conforming product. In addition, he
monitors the production process to ensure the elimination of waste, while also
undertaking research and development activities to determine optimum mix
designs and machine parameters for use in production of quality products.
The
jobholder directly supervises the QC Assistants, Product Inspectors/sorters,
Product Coverers and a Product Curer who are responsible for their respective
aspects of the production process.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Tests,
    samples and inspects raw materials before acceptance.
  • Tests,
    samples, sorts dry products and produces relevant product certificates
    before handing over to the Stock Controller.
  • Carries
    out research and development activities with aim of optimising available
    resources and/or introducing new products.
  • Prepares
    monthly quality control reports as required.
  • Maintains
    appropriate records with regard to raw materials suppliers’ quality,
    product quality, and calibration status of measuring equipment and
    research and development activities.
  • Oversees
    the Implementation of quality control procedures in line with set goals
    and standards.

Batcher
Position

Our client in the manufacturing industry seeks to hire a Batcher. The position
reports directly to the Batcher Helper, Recycling Plant Operator,
Supervised by Quality Controller.
Job
Purpose:
Primary
responsibility is the proper operation of the plant to produce concrete. The
batcher will work cooperatively with the quality and logistics teams in the
production of high quality concrete at the times and volumes required by the
commercial team.
Context
/ Challenges:
This
role is responsible for the batch plant operation and basic maintenance, and
ensuring that the concrete is prepared as per specification.
The
role reports functionally to the Quality Controller RMX and administratively to
the Logistics Manager.
Major
Accountabilities and Activities:
  • Observe
    production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Inspect
    raw material bins and machine hoppers to ensure there is no contamination.
  • Record
    and report raw material changes on specified forms.
  • Produce
    high quality concrete of required class, slump and volumes specified.
  • Ensure
    raw materials are loaded on appropriate hoppers by wheel loader operator.
  • Carry
    out daily physical inspection of the batch plant.
  • Keep
    track of and report daily raw material consumption.
  • Continuously
    make raw material delivery entries on BCMix.
  • Assist
    in periodic plant calibration.
  • Consult
    Quality Engineer on any concrete treatment and or truck mixer diversion.
