Position Description:
HelpAge International wishes to recruit a Monitoring, Evidence and Learning
(MEL) Coordinator based in Dar Es Salaam. Reporting to the Assistant Country
Director, you will be responsible for a full range of Monitoring, Evidence and
Learning issues.

understanding and recognition of ageing issues among civil society and the
government by supporting a strong movement of older people through actions that
empower them, by facilitating their interaction with government and access to
resources and by seeking to mainstream ageing issues into the country’s
development agenda.

Job purpose
To ensure the development and implementation of organisation-wide monitoring
and impact assessment framework in relation to programming and advocacy
objectives contained in HelpAge’s Strategic Targets and to our major audiences
and donors to meet contractual obligations for reporting and overall
accountability.

Required Competencies
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from a recognised University or
equivalent professional qualification
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in project management, monitoring,
evidence and learning
Competence in the use of computer application packages, word, excel and others,
knowledge of, and experience in use of major statistical packages/systems
Ability to effectively guide programmes during planning, implementation and
evaluation effective ways of evidence gathering, analysis and reporting
Ability to develop appropriate evidence gathering processes and tools
Experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and reporting
Communication and reporting skills (verbal and written)
A team player in a cross-cultural environ me t
Fluency in Kiswahili and English
