The role of the Liquid Nitrogen Plant Operator
Will be to operate liquid nitrogen plant, advice and carry out maintenance. He / She will be responsible for liquid nitrogen production and distribution to the organization’s clients in the livestock sector.
The Key responsibilities:
– To operate a Kelvin model liquid nitrogen plant, and produce and market liquid nitrogen;
– Carry out or advice on servicing, repairs and maintenance of the liquid nitrogen plant;
– To produce, decant, dispense or dispose off, fill and distribute liquid nitrogen to dewars for use by artificial insemination service providers;
– Build capacity of liquid nitrogen users/clients in liquid nitrogen handling and maintenance of liquid nitrogen dewars;
– Coordinate field liquid nitrogen delivery and support systems including monthly activities, maintenance and updating of client registers, delivery of inputs;
– Supervise/Monitor the delivery of liquid nitrogen and other input supplies through a well developed and coordinated route map in project sites and clientele; •
– Develop sound communication and feedback system with the senior management team
– Prepare budget projections, expense and activity reports.
Requirement:
The Qualifications and Experience:
– Minimum of Diploma in the fields of Mechanical or Electrical engineering;
– A minimum of five years’ experience in liquid nitrogen plants operation;
– Previous experience in plant’s servicing, repairs and maintenance;
– Previous experience in working with artificial insemination service providers and in livestock
– breeding sector and in Storage and Removal of Semen from the Liquid Nitrogen Tank would be an advantage;
– Good understanding and experience in liquid nitrogen handling (filling/dispensing/ decanting/transportation / storage and disposal];
– Excellent organizational, negotiation and communication skills is a prerequisite;
– Training or sound experience in business skills;
– Strong computer skills particularly in MS packages like Word, Excel, and Power-point.
