Heaven Restaurant & Bar opened in May of 2008 in the lovely neighborhood of Kiyovu. Started as a social enterprise to improve service levels in the hospitality sector and create employment, Heaven is consistently ranked one of the country’s top restaurants with a spectacular ambience on a custom-built outdoor terrace overlooking the entire city. Heaven is committed to an international standard of cuisine and service, and is continuously seeking ways to improve all areas of the business. We are looking for a creative, energetic trained chef to work with locally sourced ingredients, improve our kitchen organization, and help us run an efficient and profitable operation. Culinary training and restaurant management experience are preferred as is proficiency in French and English. A great personality and willingness to interact with our international customer-base is ideal. The flexibility to adapt to Rwandan culture and the unavoidable limitations of living and working in a developing country, is key.
Responsibilities include:
- kitchen management and staff training, purchasing, menu development, some front of house interactions;
- increasing revenue and lowering expenses;
- team-building efforts, managing conflict;
- inventory control and management of stock;
- showing creativity and innovation when it comes to all areas of the business such as new promotions and special events, and helping us design systems to monitor and evaluate.

Compensation: Salary dependent on experience.
