Reporting
to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, you will be responsible for
providing legal expertise to the business to ensure sound commercial decision
making.  On a daily basis you will work across all areas of the business
providing support and advice.  You will also form part of a small legal
team and be provided with the opportunity to further develop your legal skills
and experience. 
This
role is a full time permanent position that will be responsible for the
following activities:  
  • Advise,
    draft and negotiate funding agreements, general contracts and commercial
    agreements in order to achieve optimal strategic and operational outcomes
    for Healthdirect Australia
  • Manage
    and resolve, with support, disputes and incidents through mediation, negotiation,
    interlocutory proceedings or litigation and coordinate the provision of
    relevant external professional advice
  • Identify
    and manage legal risks in contracts, business operations and claims
  • Manage
    legal and compliance issues to support corporate transactions and business
    operations, including the management of trademarks, brands and licences
  • Keep
    up to date with contemporary governance laws and emerging trends, ensuring
    the Company’s governance framework complies with legislative and statutory
    requirements
  • Identify,
    instigate and implement legal compliance programs
  • Research
    relevant legislation and policy changes, and communicate impacts
    internally
  • Actively
    contribute to the strategic plans and continuous improvement within the
    Company, including risk reduction and business efficiency.
What
you’ll need…..
You
will be a diligent professional who has:
  • 2+
    years post admission experience
  • Experience
    at a mid-top tier firm or government organisation is preferred
  • Strong
    written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent
    professional, commercial and personal judgment, problem solving and
    decision making skills
  • Demonstrated
    knowledge of relevant statutory and legislative requirements in Australia
  • Ability
    to draft and interpret a range of commercial and corporate contracts and
    legal documents to a high standard
  • Knowledge
    of legal requirements under and operation of the Corporations Act 2001
    (Cth) 
  • Knowledge
    of and interest in health industry and government sector trends and
    issues.
