Head of Trading & Business Development Job Vacancy in Kenya

Our client is based in Kenya as a wholly owned subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company that is part of an enlarged group that has had over 100 billion sterling pounds of assets under management.
With approximately millions of life assurance policyholders, banking customers, short-term insurance policyholders and more than 1 million unit trust accounts worldwide making our client one of the top forty asset managers of the world.

Our client is looking to recruit a seasoned Head of Trading & Business Development reporting to the General Manager.

Purpose of the position
To facilitate timely, ethical and professional execution of market securities to globally accepted standards.

Duties /responsibilities
• In charge of dealing in both equities and bonds at the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE)
• Ensuring best execution practices are adopted on the trading desk
• Ability to market and advise clients on financial securities(bonds and equities)
• Team player in Business Development to grow the business
• Professionally manage relationships with other stakeholders in the industry
• Liaise with back office on any operational issues.
• Monitor, analyse and report on market trends.
• Participate and contribute in investment committee decisions.
• Contribute & support head in meeting overall business objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Requires a degree in finance or business administration and developing investment qualifications.
• Fully computer literate
• High integrity and honesty.
• Proven management/leadership skills
• Good interpersonal and communication & negotiation skills.
• Highly numerate
• 5 years relevant work experience
