GSLS Doctoral Program Fellowships for International Students in Germany

The Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) at
University of Würzburg is inviting applications for doctoral fellowships in
the fields of Biomedicine, Clinical Sciences, Infection and Immunity,
Integrative Biology and Neuroscience. Fellowship worth of 1468 EUR / month
and 5000 EUR / year for research and conference expenses will be
awarded to successful candidates. Applications must be submitted online
till 30 September 2013.
Study Subject(s): Fellowships are awarded in the fields of Biomedicine, Clinical Sciences,
Infection and Immunity, Integrative Biology and Neuroscience.
Course Level: The fellowships are provided for pursuing a PhD
degree at Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS), University of Würzburg

Eligibility:
-passion for and experience in research,
-excellent university degree obtained within the last two years, usually an MSc
or Diploma (if graduation is expected by January 2014 you may apply;
exceptional candidates holding an Honours BSc can join after a qualification
period),
-proven excellent oral and written English skills
-eagerness to work in an interdisciplinary and international environment.
Scholarship Open for International Students: International students can apply for the fellowships.
Scholarship Description: Würzburg is one of Germany’s leading life sciences universities.
Internationally renowned research centers as well as other research
institutions provide exceptional research opportunities. The GSLS comprises
more than 300 PhD students and runs research training programs in the following
sections: Biomedicine, Clinical Sciences, Infection and Immunity, Integrative
Biology and Neuroscience.
What does it cover? 
-widely visible international research environment,
-personal fellowship (1468 EUR / month),
-funding of research and conference expenses (5000 EUR / year),
-supervision and mentoring by a thesis committee, network of peers,
-scientific and professional skills training (including a mentoring program for
female PhD students),
-tutoring for international students,
-MD/PhD program for medical graduates.
Notification: Notification about whether or not you are invited for an interview will
be sent out by the end of October 2013. Selected applicants from Europe (or
travelling in Europe at that time) will be invited for an interview in Würzburg
in November/December 2013 (travel subsidies available). International
applicants from outside Europe will be interviewed by video conferencing.
