Job Advert Executive Assistant, Greenpeace Canada –

Greenpeace Canada is an international campaigning
organization working to protect our oceans, forests, the Arctic and stop
climate change. In Canada we have over 100 staff working across the country
with our thousands of supporters to deliver both national and international
campaigns.
Greenpeace is currently seeking a detail-oriented,
well organized and globally-minded individual that can work in a fast paced
environment. If that’s you, you also are fluent in English and able to work in
French, enjoy organizing meetings and doing minutes on one hand and managing
relations with our high-profile contacts and doing research for speeches on

the
other. You are passionately committed to the environment and human rights and
you are able to bring creativity, humour and excellence to your work.

Working closely with the Executive Director you
would support the Board of Directors and the Strategic Leadership Team. Here’s
the job in a nutshell:
– Providing administrative support to the Executive
Director and assist with the overall administration of the Executive Director’s
office.
– Assisting in the organization of and document
preparation for meetings (Board of Directors, Senior Leadership Team, staff
meeting etc.)
– Taking the minutes and manage meeting outcomes of
the key leadership meetings of Greenpeace.
– Providing project management support to key
initiatives delivered from the EDs office.
– Handling external relations, as needed, on behalf
of the ED.
– Supporting the ED with her travel, public
speaking preparation and coordination, social media, and her other related
external responsibilities.
– Other responsibilities as required.
You will possess:
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal
    communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, logistical,
    strategic planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple
    projects/tasks at one time in a fast-paced, high-pressure work
    environment.
  • Fluency in English, proficiency in French
  • Previous experience in administrative support
    at an executive level.
  • At least 2 years experience in a non-profit
    organization with a board of directors.
  • Strong computer skills and social media
    fluency
  • A knowledge and passion for environment and
    social justice issues; knowledge of Greenpeace’s values, mission and
    overall objectives.
