Salary rate: $ 22.048 per hour; full-time 35 hours per week

Greenpeace has an exciting opportunity to support various activities surrounding the celebration of Greenpeace’s founding in Vancouver on the occasion of the organization’s 40th anniversary.
The Communications Assistant / Special Event Organizer will:
• Assist Greenpeace Canada staff with special events activities, including planning, budgeting and coordination;
• Provide media relations support including developing contact lists, pitching stories and media monitoring;
• Take on other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
• Extremely well-organized, attentive to detail and good at multi-tasking;
• Self starter able to complete tasks with minimum supervision;
• Strong communications skills (verbal and written);
• Proven judgement and analytical skills;
• Excellent interpersonal coordination and negotiation skills (personable but persistent);
• Flexible personality.
• Comfortable with Greenpeace’s goals and campaign style;
• Good computer skills.
