Habitat for Humanity Malawi is now recruiting for:
Position Title : The Global Village Officer
Reporting to : RDC Coordinator
Department : Resource Development and Communication

The GV Officer will develop, coordinate and monitor
an effective Global Village Program in Malawi. The GV Officer develops and
applies strategies, policies and practical application for risk mitigation to
provide positive customer service to HRHM/HFHI volunteers, their sending
Institutions and local hosting networks and is the key link between volunteers
and HFHM/ HFHI.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
·        
Develops
volunteer programs on a national level with the support and inputs of the Area
Offices (including Global Village, Church Relations and Youth programs)
·        
Reviews
and updates the standardized documents, orientation materials and emergency
information for hosting teams
·        
Serves as
main HFHM / HFHI contact for all sending program coordinators and International
Volunteer team leaders
·        
Develops
annual hosting plans for GV and Domestic teams
·        
Liaise
with Program and Project teams to develop team budgets and hosting plans
·        
Ensures
implementation of the HFHI standards for Global Village programs nationwide, in
accordance with minimum standards for hosting teams
·        
Directly
supports volunteers to mitigate risk and enrich the building experience by
staying with teams in the project community during in-country building period
During non-hosting seasons:
·        
Will
support program and RDC initiatives as called upon, especially in the areas of
donor development and maintenance (newsletter publication, thank you letters,
special events)
·        
Will Help
formulate GV related policies & procedures such as accepting team
proposals, gift-giving policies, etc.
·        
Responsible
for GV Finance/ Donation Coordination Responsible for complying to Area Office
Reports & Evaluation Procedure.
OTHER DUTIES
During non-hosting seasons, will also support
Operations by providing logistical support for programs and operations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
·        
Advance
Diploma in, Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations from a
well-recognized University/Institution. A Bachelor’s Degree will be an added
advantage
·        
At least
one year of experience in marketing/communications, or public relations in a
recognized company or organization preferably with an NGO
·        
Experience
in non-profit work/NGO, even as a volunteer, is an advantage.
