mmunities around the world, helping them improve their
social, economic and environmental conditions.  Global Communities is
seeking a Program Manager for the Malawi Office of the Agri-business Investment
for Market Stimulation (AIMS) program, a 5 yr project funded by the United
Sates Department of Agriculture (USDA).  AIMS will bolster trade for
agribusiness enterprises in Kenya, Tanzania and Malawi by increasing their
access to bank finance and by expanding their trade outlets.

The Program Manager
–Malawi will head the Malawi Office of the AIMS program, reporting to the
Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) at the AIMS headquarters in Nairobi.  He/she
will direct all technical and operations staff in the Malawi Office, totalling
approximately 10 individuals, in the day to day activities in accordance with a
detailed workplan designed jointly with technical cadre and other members of
AIMS senior management.  Responsibilities will include both building and
maintaining counterpart relationships, monitoring donor-compliance procedures,
and upholding contractual obligations between Global Communities/AIMS and the
program partners to ensure compliance with Global Communities and donor
requirements. The Program Manager will provide technical backstopping for
project implementation and will be responsible for ensuring that AIMS/Malawi
meet project deliverables set out in the work plan, while fulfil all financial,
administrative and reporting requirements

Bachelors Degree or
Advanced Degree (preferred) in International Development, Agriculture, Business
Development, or another related/appropriate field, 7 yrs of program management
experience in relevant activities, preferably in a US-funded program: capacity
building and motivational skills and strong command of English and local
national language
