Consultant 2: Girl Clubs Coordination Consultant
Reporting line: Insights and Strategy Manager, Girl Hub Rwanda
Duration of Consultancy: 3 months
Overview:
The Girl Clubs coordinator´s responsibility is to project manage phase one of
the delivery of Girl Hub Rwanda´s Ni Nyampinga (social communications brand)
clubs strategy whose objective is to deliver social assets in the form of a
weekly topic via radio and via mobile phones to all 13 – 19 year old girls who
are active in clubs in Rwanda.
Key Objectives:
1. To have a database of all girl clubs in Rwanda with in-depth knowledge on
how they operate and are sponsored.
2. To pilot two clubs for phase one and gather learnings.
3. To deliver a core ‘clubs syllabus´.
4. To manage relationship with all stakeholders
5. To coordinate and manage the two pilot clubs
Main Responsibilities:
The Girl Clubs coordinator manages and coordinates clubs working with GHR
Key Duties and
responsibilities
– Create a Clubs Data Base:
• Locate all girls who are active in clubs in Rwanda and build a clubs database
listing size, leadership, location, agenda, activities and a point of contact
for these clubs.
– Launch Pilot Clubs:
• Work with the Insights team, Brand team, Design and Innovation team and the
Girl Centred Practise and Strategy (GCPS)team to launch 2 pilot clubs, one in
the central region and another in the Southern region during phase one of the
project.
• Build a strong relationship with the Girl Hub core function teams – Insights,
Brand, DI, and the GCPS team and external consultants to deliver and launch the
clubs initiative by September 1st 2013.
– Clubs Syllabus:
• Work into Girl Hub Insights team and a Senior Consultant to focus upon the
delivery of a core ‘clubs syllabus´ which will define weekly topics for
delivery to the clubs via the NN radio channel.
• Work closely with a team of designers who will be delivering activities and
challenges for the girls in clubs to engage in each week alongside the key
topic in the syllabus.
• Liaise directly with clubs and club leaders and sponsors where they have
questions regarding the syllabus and the feedback via mobile phones.
– Relationships with
stakeholders:
• Manage, on a day-to-day basis, operational details and interactions with all
stakeholders in the project ensuring both top down and bottom up approval is
gained from authorities and clubs sponsors at a Cell level.
• Assist in delivering road maps which will help individual girls start their
own club or locate the nearest clubs they could join and support existing clubs
to find and communicate with one another
– Project managing and
co-ordination:
• Project-manage the clubs team ensuring that deadlines are met and the budget
is managed.
Essential skills and
experience:
• Previous work experience in project management of similar projects.
• Experience of managing a budget and external contractors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to clearly
communicate and negotiate with key stakeholders.
• Prior role within the creative development environment preferably including
programmes that have supported digital products.
• Significant experience working in a development environment with young
people.
