An associate professor Thomas McDabe of the Northwestern University of Illinois USA stated, “Our research suggested that ultra-clean, ultra-hygienic environments early in life may contribute to higher level of inflammation as an adult, which in turn increases risks for a wide range of diseases.”
He went ahead to say that in a study that compared Filipino children with their American counterparts, it was found out that, overall, Filipinos suffered many infectious diseases as youngsters. Yet, contrary to expectation, young Filipino adults had much lower blood of C-reactive protein, the concentration of which rises in response to inflammation. The conclusion? Greater childhood exposure to common bacterial may actually protect adult from some deadly illnesses.
So the next time you found your children playing in some ‘unhygienic’ places, just exercise a little restrain before your react.
