Qualifications: An undergraduate degree in
mining Engineering
Experience: Production Engineer experienced in UG environment including
monitoring compliance to plan, compilation of monthly plans, issuing mining
instructions & designs and scheduling of UG development and stopping areas
Purpose of the role: To be involved in all the underground planning processes,
to support the mining operation, including the assessment of alternatives to
improve the operation. Ensure compliance to standards.
Safety

Planning
• Assist Mining Engineer III and Planning Superintendent in LOM and 18 month
rolling plan generation.
• Designing of all underground development ends and stopes on a continuous
basis as new geological information becomes available.
• Responsible for preparation of 3 Month Schedule (3MS) including updating of cost
forecast.
• Updating and issuing of AMD (Advanced Mine Designs) on a continuous basis –
in accordance with mine standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives wrt systems and process.
• Participate in 7/21 schedule generation by contractor and advise on adherence
to three monthly schedule.
Main
Responsibilities
• Ensure environmental policies and strategies are incorporated in mining plans
and are undertaken in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Assist other Technical Services sections in execution of duties.
• Ensure all contract required services are provided on-time.
Production
• Monitor contractor’s adherence to three monthly schedules.
• Assist Underground Manager and Planning Superintendent in generation of
monthly and weekly report including reconciliations against budget and
forecasts.
• Attend daily AUMS production meeting to respond to any queries on behalf of
production engineering and planning.
• Quantify, record and report all amendments and deviations to I from plan
within 24hr to, supervisor on approved template.
• Daily tracking and verification of contractors progress on tracking sheets.
• Monthly compilation of all physicals including ground support
Additional Requirement
• Have at least 5 years’ experience in underground operations – designs and
planning.
• Be willing to work on a rotating day shift roster.
• Computer literate in Studio 501 Mine 2-40 and EPS.
• AEGIS experience would be advantageous.
• Must be dynamic and have a pro-active approach to challenges provided.
Disciplined individual required with good work ethics.
• Must have good written and oral communication skills in English Language.
• Computer Literate – Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – specifically
Excel. ; .
• Able to drive and hold a current Tanzanian Driver’s License.
• Able to show initiative and co-ordination skills and be able to interact with
Mining Technical & Production personnel (UG) Contractors.
