Position Summary
Futures Group is recruiting a Chief of Party for an upcoming program evaluating gender-based violence (GBV) interventions in Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
• Provides overall strategic, technical, and programmatic direction and guidance for project activities
• Works closely with and manages a core staff of technical and administrative program professionals.
• Ensures that project objectives, outcomes, and deliverables are met and that financial, operational, and reporting requirements of the donor are adhered to.
• Leads and/or participates in preparation of necessary technical and program-related reports, including presentations and manuscripts for scientific publication.
• Serves as the primary liaison with the client as well as with other donors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Works collaboratively with partners to coordinate activities and strengthen partnerships in support of common goals
• Serves as the project’s key representative to USAID
• Works with the US-based country management support team to ensure responsive and efficient project operations
Qualifications
• Advanced degree in public health or a related field
• Minimum of ten years managing programs that implement community-based or field research in developing countries, preferably on GBV and HIV or other health programs.
• Minimum of five years managing and providing strategic and technical leadership as either a Program Director or similar senior level position on field programs funded by USG.
• Experience in coordination and collaboration of stakeholders including government agencies, host country governments and counterparts, and international donor agencies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Kiswahili preferred.
• Familiarity with the political, social, economic, and cultural context of working in Tanzania preferred.
Preference will be given to local nationals.
