Commercials Advice
is seeking a lawyer with 4-7 years PQE to join our team.
Commercials Advice
is part of Free TV Australia, which is the industry body for commercial
free-to-air television broadcasters. We provide classification and information
services to advertisers, broadcasters, agencies and production houses in
relation to television commercials and
infomercials.
Candidates should
have strong trade practices experience, confident oral and written
communication skills and be able to work autonomously. Defamation and
broadcasting law experience is desirable, but not essential.
The Legal Counsel
will report to the Director of Commercial Operations and have responsibility
for:
providing
legal advice and support to Commercials Advice including co-ordinating external
advice;
ongoing
training of Commercials Advice classifiers and staff on a wide range of
regulatory issues;
assisting
with the coordination and management of Commercials Advice projects;
developing
and delivering external training for advertisers and commercial television
broadcasters;
monitoring
changes in advertising regulation and drafting submissions in response to such
changes;
representing
Commercials Advice on relevant advertising and stakeholder bodies;
assisting
with queries from commercial television broadcasters, including regarding
complaints;
review
of third party contracts;
assisting
with pre-production comments on scripts, including reviewing infomercials; and
maintaining
a range of documents including the Commercials Advice Handbook for Advertisers,
and various Information Sheets.
