The ideal candidate for the
Associate Director of Digital Media is passionate about community building,
storytelling and metrics, of course! Community building will take place across
four brands each with their own distinct voice, channels and following
(properties include, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, We365
App, blog) If you are an enthusiastic individual looking to cultivate and
nurture a growing, passionate, loyal community around our brands; if you are

The position is based out of Free
The Children’s International office in Toronto (233 Carlton Street). A minimum
three-year commitment is expected. Salary is to be negotiated. There is a three
(3) month probationary period, upon reaching the three (3) month period, all
staff members are offered a health plan including dental and Employee Assistant
Program.

Digital Strategies
- Assist with creation, and presentation of social media
strategy and integrated digital marketing campaigns - Work with colleagues in internal marketing and
communications department to ensure development of social media strategy
in and around campaigns - Work closely with the internal business units and
editorial teams, attending editorial briefings and strategy sessions, and
work with teams to build content designed to ignite passion and grow the
community on and off social channels - Be a brand ambassador for social channels and know the
communities on each platform - Keep editors and writers up to date on the best voice,
platforms and tools on-site and on social media - Work with the moderation team and social team to
identify the best community members across social media platforms and the
site to drive community investment
Sponsorship
- Works with Director to develop sponsorship activations
- A front facing representative at sponsorship meetings
- Communicate with sponsors on inclusion of their brands
in social media content - Oversee execution of sponsored activations in digital
space - Report back on activations
Publishing
- Work with community managers to create and maintain
Content Calendars - Post relevant content in accordance with Content
Calendar
Listening and Reporting
- Measure, analyze, measure more, and report, tweak and
repeat! - Review user generated comments and posts in a quick and
timely manner - Respond to comments, when appropriate, in order to
foster a positive community and add value to the user’s experience. - Enforce the Social Media Guidelines as defined by the
brand. - Escalate User Generated Content, where appropriate, to
internal and client stakeholders. - Utilize social listening tools to generate insights
- Summarize insights and conversations to create actionable,
client-facing reports that lead to better outcomes
Team Leadership
- Acts as a member of the management team within the
Digital Media department, as well as within the broader organization - Lease with other Associate Directors and Directors to
make sure their priorities are being reflected in social media content - Coach and motivate team members, and influence them to
take positive action and accountability for their assigned work - Provide direction, leadership, and coordination for a
range of projects - Co-lead departmental human resources functions such as
hiring, evaluations and difficult conversations with team members - Set up departmental processes and monitor efficiency,
and project tracking - Review and approve all social media content prepared by team
before posting
