seeks an Associate
Director of Youth and Educational Programming
to join our Youth
and Educational Programming Department, which develops and implements unique
programming to engage youth in learning about social issues and taking action
to support Free The Children’s sustainable community development work overseas.

The position is
based out of Free The Children’s International office in Toronto (233 Carlton
Street). A minimum two-year commitment is expected. Salary is to be negotiated.
There is a three (3) month probationary period, upon reaching the three (3)
month period, all staff members are offered a health plan including dental and
Employee Assistant Program.

Responsibilities:

The Associate
Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and
implementation over all aspects of Free The Children’s Youth and Educational
Programming activities, ensuring they meet the strategic objectives set out by
the Director and Executive Director of Free The Children.

  • Use
    data to inform new tactics and strategies for increasing market share and
    generating revenue
  • Monitor
    quality and performance of team members
  • Clearly
    communicate priorities and objectives to team on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Work
    closely with the Partner Relations team to build, measure and execute on
    sponsorship deliverables through the We Act program

Monitoring
ongoing work of managers and coordinators

  • Directly
    oversee and support the work of management team. This includes managers in
    the Toronto Office as well as Satellite Offices in MN and IL
  • Responsible
    for monitoring progress and quality of projects and plans
  • Development
    of standardized reporting processes and management techniques
  • Working
    with Regional Offices to standardize processes on We Act deliverables with
    relation to internal department priorities

Strategic
development

  • Represent
    the Youth and Educational Programming team in Director meetings and
    strategy development, particularly as it results to annual fundraising and
    education campaigns
  • Contribute
    to, as well as support in the development of overall department strategy
    and direction, as set out by Director

Oversight of
project management and implementation

  • Quality
    control over all documents and materials
  • Monitor
    the coordination of special events

Skills and
Qualifications:

  • 3+
    years of relevant professional experience
  • Possess
    a Bachelor’s degree, and/or possess a diploma or certificate in education,
    project management, marketing, business or equivalent education
  • Excellent
    organizational and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent
    writing skills, with experience writing strategic plans, program reports
    and proposals
  • Ability
    to work with senior level management to carry-out vision and objectives,
    and ability to communicate this information to the broader team
  • Experience
    tracking and monitoring revenue (Experience in sales an asset)
  • Demonstrated
    experience and/or ability to deliver several programs, happening
    simultaneously
  • Experience
    managing people in a large team, including motivating performance and
    communicating vision and priorities
  • Highly
    self-motivated, independent and strategic thinker
  • Ability
    to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Experience
    working with schools and/or school administrative bodies and/or youth an
    asset
  • Experience
    working with Microsoft Office Suites (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
    Outlook, Publisher)
